In June 2014, the Obama administration proposed an ambitious plan to cut carbon pollution from power plants to address the risks of climate change. In just a few short weeks, the agency is preparing to release the final rules for existing power plants, as well as carbon pollution standards for new, modified and reconstructed power plants. In order to comply with rules and meet state mandates, power facilities will be seeking new technologies, fuels and emission reduction methods. Attend this free webinar to learn the basics of the Clean Power Plan, its purpose and potential impact on the power industry, why and how biomass fits into the plan and its potential role—including cofiring opportunities and utilization of waste outside of woody biomass and pellets—political and regulatory aspects of biomass in state compliance plans, and its intertwinement with EPA’s Science Advisory Board on Biogenic Carbon Emissions Panel framework, and more.
